BTS Special International Music Award for Japanese Recordings

The group BTS (BTS) has become the main character of the "Special International Music Award" for Japanese records.

Big Hit Entertainment, the agency, said on the 31st that BTS received a special international music award at the 62nd Japan Record Awards, which was broadcast live on TBS, Japan on the 30th. The Special International Music Award is a new category this year, and BTS is the only foreign artist to receive the award.

BTS said, "Thank you very much. This has been a tough year around the world, and music has been a great help. I hope our song can give you a little bit of strength," he said. After its release in August this year, it presented performances of the English single "Dynamite," which topped the U.S. Billboard's main single chart "Hot 100," and the title song "Life Goes On," the new album "BE" deluxe edition.

BTS ranked third in the Japanese Oricon chart "Sales by Works" category "Album Ranking" released on the 25th with 658,882 sales with "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 ~ THE JOURNEY" (MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 ~ THE JOURNEY) "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7", "Rain", and "SKOOL LUV AFFAIR SPECIAL ADDITION" ranked fifth, 16th and 89th, respectively, with a total of four albums included in the top 100 albums.

BTS also ranked second in the "Artist-specific Sales" category, which combines sales amounts such as singles, albums, streaming and DVDs, and seventh with "Dynamic" in the "Streaming Ranking."

BTS will appear at the Big Hit label's online concert "2021 NEW YEAR'S EVE LIVE" at 9:30 p.m. today (31st).
