The group BTS (BTS) has opened the way for postponing its military enlistment until the age of 30.

The Ministry of National Defense announced on the 22nd that a partial revision bill to the Military Service Act will be promulgated to add "excellent people in the field of popular culture and art" to the list that can postpone military conscription and call-up.

This information shall be implemented on the date six months after the promulgation.

The Ministry of National Defense plans to minimize the specific scope of the postponement and reflect it in the revision of the presidential decree in the future, and it is reported that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will delay enlistment until the age of 30 for those recommended by the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

In this case, BTS, which received the Hwagwan Order of Culture Merit in October 2018 in recognition of the spread of the Korean Wave and the Korean language, will also be eligible if recommended by the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Among BTS members, Jin (Kim Seok-jin), who is 28 years old and the oldest, will be able to postpone his military enlistment until 2022 and Jungkook (Jeon Jung-kook), who is the youngest, until 2027.

On the other hand, the revision also included allowing the extension of the global suspension period to be continued on a six-month basis or less if hospitalization treatment is needed due to trauma or illusions.

This is to ensure that soldiers injured during military service receive sufficient treatment and are discharged from the military.

Previously, the entire military service could be suspended only within six months from the expiration date of the mandatory service, and medical support was only available if it was recognized as a person of national merit or veterans' compensation after being discharged from the military.

The system takes effect immediately after the promulgation of the law and applies to soldiers who were previously on hold.

In addition, the period of extended service after the discharge of paid volunteers has been increased from the previous one and a half years to up to four years, and the name has been changed to the "term deputy officer."

This information is implemented simultaneously with the promulgation so that it can be applied to those selected before implementation.

In addition, the government provided information on social service personnel's criminal experience to the head of the service agency so that they can be used for service management, while establishing a basis for criminal punishment if they leak, use, search, or view personal information.

The Ministry of National Defense said, "The move is aimed at preventing serious crimes such as digital sex crimes committed by social service personnel with other people's personal information." "It is implemented simultaneously with the promulgation of the law."
