BTS Arrives in Washington

The world-renowned K-pop group BTS (BTS) arrived in Washington, D.C. on the 29th (local time) to attend an event at the White House on the 31st.

Except for Jungkook, the BTS members arrived in the U.S. via Dulles Airport on a Korean Air flight earlier in the day.

Jungkook is expected to leave Korea first on the 28th and go through LA to New York before joining the White House event.

Dozens of BTS fans came out before arriving at Dulles Airport to welcome BTS's visit to Washington, D.C.

Some fans also prepared hand signs such as "Welcome to America," "Borahae (meaning I love you)," and "BTS.""

However, fans had to take a regrettable step as BTS, who visited at the official invitation of the White House, left the airport through the VIP exit, not ordinary passengers.

BTS The members came out of the VIP exit around noon and shared a waiting sport utility vehicle (SUV).

"The White House's invitation to BTS to discuss anti-Asian hate crimes was a good opportunity to spread the message to stop hate and racism," Isabel Rienano di Hanson, who visited the airport with her two children, told Yonhap News Agency.

Maychae, who came to the airport to welcome BTS, also said, "The White House event will help resolve hate crimes and discrimination because BTS is influential not only in the United States but also around the world."
